The history of the oldest distillery in Europe began on July 4, 1518, when William of Pernštejn and Helfštýn granted the right to the brewing gamekeeper Jesus of Seloutek, who owned the U Zeleného stromu house in Prostějov. From the beginning, the U Zeleného strom distillery has been engaged in the production of rye distillate.
This started the era of the distillery with a purely Czech origin, which remains in the hands of the Czech owner even after 500 years.

In addition to the mentioned personalities of the birth of the distillery itself, the later fame of Stará žitná hunting was mainly due to the successful businessman Luis Eckelmann and also to the Prostějov pioneer in burning rye spirits Jakub Vojáček.

Stará Žitná Myslivecká RESERVE – rye distillate, macerate of herbs and unique production process of double maturation in selected barrels of white oak for four years, where in the last year of maturation the macerate of herbs is added, this is what distinguishes RESERVE from the more widespread Old Rye Hunting 1yo. The result is a unique delicate taste with a warm reverberation of orchard fruit.
